We sit
Too nervous to speak
Waiting for the moment
To say what we need
We fight with the words
We don't wanna say
But we'd be naive
To think that we're okay
I cut off your lifeline
And you cut off mine
Nothing left to hold onto
When one becomes two
What I’d do to feel you one last time
I know you feel the same
What we planted
Became overgrown
Underwatered and unkept
Together but alone
I made our flowers wilt
You pulled the roots packed in the earth
But now there's nothing left to do
A chance to tend to gardens of our own
A chance to mend,
A chance to grow
I know but it can’t be that way
Another time, another place
We'd like to stay, but not today
Maybe if things were different
Another world, another space
You and I, another day
The sun beams off your skin
Reminding me of what has been
There is just no way to properly describe the journey that this album provides, with its enormous riffs, varied sound throughout and the raw emotion of it all. A rare perfect album... Agent Echo

Romance of Affliction somehow makes an old genre feel brand new. Amazing. I would have swore this album was from 2005 if I didn't see with my own eyes it wasn't. SYSC takes everything good about mid-00s metalcore and brings it into the modern day, leaving behind the trash. It's a pure distillation of the genre with brilliant structure, pacing, and lyrics. The album ebbs and flows, letting emotions swell before punching in with some of the most intense passages I've heard in a while. rettisawesome
