I’m torn between wanting to be on my own
And not liking the feeling of feeling alone
Peaceful days never last long
Is it lack of sleep or something lying beneath?
[chorus]
Spaced-out again
I hate that feeling
So I’ll drink
Some yellow paint
Just to find some colour
I cut my ear off to feel something
I cut my ear off to stop listening
I’m missing moments of life
I’m feeling dizzy and out of time
[chorus]
Spaced-out again
I hate that feeling
So I’ll drink
Some yellow paint
Just to find some colour
I’m up and down
I’m up and down
[chorus]
Spaced-out again
I hate that feeling
So I’ll drink
Some yellow paint
Just to find some colour
The verse "Can't even buy a coffee without exploiting someone" got me. It really hits hard. For the entire length of the album it felt like the end of the world.
But to be perfectly honest, it's just how life is these days. And it's fucked up. szczur
This album hits like a ton of bricks. I can't say how long it's been since a band reached me like this, but I can't get enough. The driving rhythm, the ghostly floating leads, the haunting and direct lyrics, the desperation in her voice... Powerful. Jaycee
New York duo showcase an enigmatic blend of math rock guitars, pop-punk sing-a-longs, emo confessionals, and even rave-ready synths. Bandcamp New & Notable Nov 15, 2023
Bouncy, jangly power pop with a slash of acidic shadow, as the very best twee always has. From Boston, they met at band camp (not Bandcamp). Bandcamp New & Notable Jul 2, 2019
the evolution of citizen is almost identical to the typical depiction of human evolution. As you please strays from the previous releases while containing raw emotion. ghøstbødy
