Fuck this. I'm sick of waiting, wondering where you've been. I'm sick of hoping that things work out when i knew they never would. I'm sick of opening my eyes and watching you destroy your life. I'm sick of sifting through the lies and being mad about the shit you did in the past. I should've known that you're not coming home. You're too weak to stand up. Too ashamed to show your face. You can hide away but the burden remains. You made a choice you'll forever regret. You made a promise but you seem to forget. How can you look yourself in the eyes when you know the thought is killing you inside? It kills you inside. Here i am, falling for the things i stood agiainst but every time i walk away you haunt my every memory. Every line you ever crossed, every friendship that you lost, did i ever up and leave without warning? I wont forget what you said to me "I can't do this alone. I need you now more than ever before" and i trusted you. But no longer will i fall for it. I dont need you because i can do this alone. I dont need you. You made a choice you'll forever regret. You made a promise but you seem to forget. How can you look yourself in the eyes when you know it kills you inside?
Raw, expressive, and achieves a remarkable balance between melody and sharp hardcore edge. It presents a type of duality that makes euphony and cacophony sound beautiful together, like rice and beans (a complete protein) :) Love the sound, this split demonstrates impressive talent! Kenny McGalem
The beginning of something great!
From the opening post rock instrumentation of the 1st track to the emoting pleading lead vocals; you can tell immediately that Gates is something different & special.
At times reminiscent of Thrice & Thursday vocally "Fear" sets the sonic blueprint for how "Post - whatever" bands with vocals can be so powerful in both form and presence.
Gates angst is fresh and liberating! Agent K
