There’s a void I’ve been filling for sometime with nothing good
Found the hurt in the foreshadow that was a line of blood
I’ve been hiding for the lion’s share of a lonely life
A little people shy
I’ve not been dry, for far too long that I fear for what’s inside
And so it goes, simply is at always was, and always will seem to go
Only time will tell the rest
There’s a void I’ve been filling for some time with nothing good
Meet the means that could satisfy these needs, baby please
Watch the world, watch your back
Feel the waves when they crash
Watch the world swallow all your plans
Curse the stars, listen back
Hear the absence that is left
Curse the smile on your face that you lack
So take the dose that will help the most
Till you feel the rope tighten on your throat
You see we’re all just sailing home at our own pace
Watch the world, watch your back
Feel the waves when they crash
Watch the world swallow anything and everything that’s left
Anyone that you have ever loved
Musically this feels more experimental for La Dispute reminding me of their Here, Hear releases. Very atmospheric and easy to lose your self in. Perfect for the next time you’re contemplating your existence. (Also found out the guitarist builds his own pedals and used them on this record; neato!) Mikey
If you've ever had to Google clumsy phrases to find a word that matched a feeling you could only feebly describe, and you ended up discovering words like hiraeth, sehnsucht, or saudade, The Million Masks of God may be an excellent companion soundtrack to your experience. joel
